NOTES FOR 45th REUNION
entrusted to Jeff Robbins just in case

Lucky to be here one way or another!

I wanted to thank my roommates Dr. Bill Thramann for his great kindness
and lovely family in those halcyon days; Dr. Steve Blacklow for the idea
that smiles from strangers beat anonymous infatuation postcards, and that
amazing family; and Dr. Peter Sorger for blowing his tweeters, and his
dad's, just to show how great the experience could be (Beethoven, not
Joan Jett).  And my "extra roommate" Dr. Bruce Tidor for his irrational
loyalty.  Many other 83s helped shape this junk ship, so thank you.
All my crushes i still crush on, but you know, 82 and 85 were there for
me too.  My Punahou-Harvard pals, you know how i feel.

Jeff Robbins hasn't even shared tiramisu in Cleveland with me, yet, but
to find another philosopher-computer guy who is also philo-Semite and
knows the Torah interpretive traditions is great.  Also connecting with
JC Graham on things.  Of course it was Christine Hayes' youtube where
she literally gave this Hittitologist permission to look at "480" and
see something missing which got my biostatistically driven math started.

So a quick review of my new timeline, best fit as we say in the maximal
consistent subset theory formation business:  2148-2161bce b. Hadaam
post-East-Semitic MarTu in Balikh under Karaca Dag phreatic venting;
1959-1961bce lahar on Khabur post-Ur-III during Amorite downmigration with
a century of tephra accumulated during drought, see Weiss at Leilan, see
also Mardin arg and pen; 1810bce b. Abram in a lunar cult area as Yamhad
forms and Baalist storm theology hits its peak; 1760 b. Isaac to Sarah at
45 solar years, with new Asherist theophoric suffix and molech-dm schism;
1670bce Joseph helps Salitis buy up real estate; 1585-1590bce Exodus of
Levirate minority from On as contumacy against Hyksos Apepi's first-born
culling policy while dealing with northern Thera plinian decimation;
Josephus has 592 years from archaeologist Kenyon's Jericho carbon layer
city-IV to the start of temple.  Not much wiggle room.

People can figure out most of the rest from that sketch.

Then there's our new Colvin Diagram:  AI trust auditing, better
statistical method, and cause/responsibility/agency.  Solves a problem
I worked on in my dissertation, originating 40yrs earlier among the
first real statisticians, and it's been 40yrs since (still unsolved).
The visualization of reference classes avoids statistical fictions and
AI/ML lies.  The student Ellie from Brooklyn brought INFJ epistemic
humility to my ENTP:  stop trying to optimize and reduce epistemic
structure to a single metric.  Helps you understand dialogically
contextual causal claims, and i just wrote about causal agency after
biological life in light of this.  You should all read it if you'd rather
be a paradigm shift than a stain on a sofa.

I have the Harvard reunion directory where Zipf says he just came up
with his curve; Colvin Diagram is waaaaaay better.  Fixes the stats in
your medical studies too.

For legal scholars, good to see our dialectial defeasibility work and
model of precedent getting serious takes.  For military theorists, by
the time I say drones and autonomous systems create better defensive
deterrents than mutually assured destruction, maybe things will have
changed.

Finally, for economists ...  I still like my bargaining model where one
places dynamic probabilities on settlement possibilities, calculates
a new expectation at each time, then makes rational concessions.
Extra utility for me to breakdown if I don't like your behavior.
I still like my Maslow-level differentiation of utility calculi.
And I still like my point about a latte not being just coffee if you
treat the barista well: some things even Bill Gates cannot buy.  I just
learned that Charles Sanders Peirce had Thorsten Veblen as a student,
and family gave us Sanders Theater, though Pierce Hall was named for a
chocolate factory donor (d'oh!).

I'm sure there are a few more crumbs scattered here and there for people
to find.  Maybe there's time to drop a few more.
