abram: coeval with hammurabi-of-babylon and yamhad, b. 1810bce, leads an amorite "army" of pastoralists, knows the astronomy of the balikh scholars, and is among the moon worshiper holdouts in sanliurfa. storm-god/sacrifice worshipers filter in from yamhad. this compels the move to canaan, where other amorites have gone (e.g. "canaan"), finding amorite damascus in the shadow of amorite aleppo/[h]alab/ebla[h]/mardikh.
sarai: literally renamed s[h]arah/asherah/isherah, which signals alignment with the moon cult of yarikh/sin/nanna (northern urfa and southern coastal ur both moon cult centers, also i-sin/sin-ai). she convinces abram not to sacrifice her not-quite-legitimate child, and not to excommunicate him as nephilim (half-breed: half-amorite-tribal, half-not). it's conceivable that the biological-father is a member of wilderness bedouin tribes (cf. kenites). abram becomes abram-ah/abraham, with theophoric infix, reconnects with his people in padan-aram. descendants multiply in the hills of hebron. abraham is too early to be an israeli, too early to speak hebrew, and is the genetic progenitor of ishmael not isaac, but he adds his name to the schism rejecting amorite human sacrifice.
jacob: beautiful and sexual, sires a "troop" with wives and servants. these become powerful and respected in southwest-canaan, but drought forces them into goshen as the amorite hyksos era is beginning. they are received by long lost joseph, also a beautiful man, and clever. abram was a scholar of the skies, a wily war band tactician, a negotiator of water rights, and a survivor of imperial encounters, but this line starts favoring good looking people with a propensity to procreate. in heliopolis/on/awen, near modern cairo, arises a minority enclave with strong ties to the sinaitic nomads and their religion, which we now call yahwist. with joseph's death and the return of sacrifice-hungry deities, set/hadad under sakir-har then apepi, the corvee labor and religious hegemony become punitive and punishing.
moses: an egyptian politically, but from jacob genetically. he escapes into the desert, where many find hospitality/sexual-hospitality among fellow amorites who remain nomadic. times are changing for the amorites. their empires in babylon and aleppo are crushed by the kanesh/hittites of hattusha and halys, their gods of marduk/ashtarte/yam/hadad/dagon/nergal are revealed powerless before the indo-european anatolians (despite sharing chariot innovations). the thera eruption changes knosssos on minoan crete (A-to-B), which is in contact with hyksos egypt. windborne pumice causes famine, and contumacy against a royal first-born culling edict requires immediate escape, 1585bce. they plunge into the western-sinai with other rebels, whom they despise for their non-levite religion, and quickly eliminate. a law code in the hammurabi tradition is struck in stone in proto-sinaitic script (paleo-hebrew): an efficient neologistic pidgin hieroglyphy. after twenty years of fighting through eastern-levantine amorite relatives, mostly descending from lot and worshiping some permutation of baal/hadad through molech (chemosh/milcom/melqart/amalekites), they find themselves in the northern-moabite plain. here siddim itself had seen sodom lost to airborne sulphur. they siege, breach, and raze jericho, thus making the dry hills safe for pastoralists (because they have new rain-catching methods, and urbans mistreated pastoralists, especially with wife-taking). meanwhile, these ruralists continually denigrate and consider sinful any civilized pursuits/sciences/arts of the urbane (a common luddite/amish-like prejudice documented even in cain's days).
